Chandler Parsons Will Return to Memphis Grizzlies in ‘Matter of Days’

Chandler Parsons has appeared in six games for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Outing No. 7 is coming soon.

Parsons missed the team’s first six games while recovering from right knee surgery he underwent last season. Then, six contests into his return, he suffered a bone bruise in his left knee and hasn’t played since Nov. 18.

But that’s all about to change, per ESPN.com’s Tim MacMahon:

Grizzlies SF Chandler Parsons went through a full practice Monday and will return in “a matter of days,” according to coach David Fizdale. Parsons has been out a month with a bone bruise in his left knee. The team will hit reset on the minutes restriction for Parsons, who sat out several games to start the season due to his recovery from surgery on his right knee.

This is welcome news, and Parsons’ return couldn’t come at a better time. Mike Conley rejoined the rotation ahead of schedule after suffering fractures in his back, and the Grizzlies are comfortably above .500, but they have a negative net rating and James Ennis, one of Parsons’ primary replacements, has been banged up himself.

Memphis also ranks 29th in offensive efficiency and 29th in three-point accuracy. Parsons was shooting under 40 percent from the floor before his latest setback, but he was still working through the rust.

If he can return and stay healthy, he will be a much-needed spacing boon for a Grizzlies squad that is one offensive jump away from needing to be taken seriously in the Western Conference.
