J.R. Smith turned down his $6.4 million option from the Cavaliers in hopes that he would receive more than that on the open market. That hasn’t exactly happened and he hasn’t garnered much interest. The Cavs have reached out to Smith to retain his services for less than he would’ve received had he not declined the option.
The Cavs have made him an offer. I hear it’s less than $6.4 million that he turned down.
