It is very rare for the big NBA stars, especially the high flying ones, to never appear in the cornerstone event on NBA All-Star Saturday Night. The Slam Dunk Contest. Dr. J, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, Jason Richardson, etc. etc. are all marquee players who had their stardom take off even further from appearing in the NBA dunk contest.
But two players who have mystified fans by their absence from the competition are Lebron James and Russell Westbrook. Both players are such high fliers in games that most fans feel either one of them could win the contest hands down. With the All-star weekend upon us, Westbrook finally gave the media some insight into why he doesn’t enter the dunk contest….
Russell Westbrook on why he's never been in the dunk contest: "I only dunk on people."

And for those of you that think he’s joking, first check out this dunk from the 2012 All-Star Game as an example….
Then take the time to view these dunks….
