Many players with signature basketball sneakers recurring inspirations throughout the different models. Derrick Rose has had a colorway dedicated to his mother, Brenda, in the last handful of silhouettes. This is the latest.
Red is still Brenda Rose’s favorite color, so the ‘Brenda’ D Rose 5 Boost has plenty of it as well as a monochromatic print featuring the D Rose (likely the best NBA player logo) symbol along with stars arranged in a way inspired by the Chicago city flag. A grey-and-black cement-like speckled print colors the counter.
With the D Rose 5, adidas has used a few different types of materials to construct the upper (leather, synthetics, wovens), but I find that for best results on the court, the Techfit build is the best (used on this colorway). Comfortable, strong, & light; best of all worlds and looks great.
The ‘Brenda’ adidas D Rose 5 Boost releases on Thursday, February 5th for $140.
