In 2013 when Stephen Curry left Nike for a Under Armour endorsement, the fact that the Swoosh didn’t see signature shoe potential in Curry was a deciding factor in the decision to join Team Armour. About 18 months into the deal and Under Armour is scheduled to release the Curry One basketball sneaker.
The day after a debut event in Oakland, California was the Warriors/Cavaliers game in which the eldest Splash Brother used the opportunity of a Friday night nationally-televised game to wear the upcoming Under Armour Curry One in a decisive 112-94 Golden State win over Cleveland. SC30 put up 23 points (with three 3-pointers) to go along with his 10 assists and 2 steals. All inside the Oracle Arena; all Under Armour sneakers that carry his name.
Stephen Curry popularized the ClutchFit Drive to the point that they are commonly referred to as “the Steph Curry Under Armours” even though seemingly every Under Armour player wore them in 2014.
On February 13th, the Under Armour Curry One releases for $120 in the two pictured colorways with more to be announced.
