Getting a signature sneaker (with your name and everything on it) from Nike makes you a member of an elite athlete club; most of the best talent in every sport at any time aren’t members but Kyrie Irving is. This is the latest colorway of his new Kyrie 1 basketball shoe.
Named for his deceptive quickness, the ‘Deceptive Red’ Kyrie 1 is a mostly red shoe with black hits and minimal yellow throughout and should hook up well with a good amount of the Cleveland Cavaliers uniforms (a number that urged to over 2x as many from last season). Traction is the key feature of Kyrie Irving’s first signature sneaker with Nike as the deep herringbone tread pattern extends from the bottom of the shoe in key places to improve traction while having your foot in different positions.
With Kevin Love not set in his role on this new-look Cavaliers and LeBron James spending a career-high amount of time on the bench, it is a good time for Irving to have his own sneaker since more eyes will be on him than ever before. That’s just good product placement.
The ‘Deceptive Red’ colorway of the Nike Kyrie 1 releases on Saturday, January 10th for $110.
