When he was still in Orlando, Dwight Howard never appeared as his normal self following his back surgery. Sure, he still put up numbers, but he didn’t dominate like we remembered. That was also the case while he was in L.A.
But in Houston, he seems to have returned to form so as luck would have it, he’s dealing with another injury now: a strained right knee. According to Kevin McHale, Dwight may be out a while.
McHale had previously said he hoped that Howard, who has been out since Nov. 19, might be ready to return in time to play on the Rockets’ road trip Wednesday and Thursday to play Golden State and Sacramento. Asked if he had a better feel for Howard’s timetable, [McHale] said again, “He won’t be back anytime soon.”
