Suns Owner Apologizes to Fans For Spurs Keeping Players Home

sarverLast night, the Suns hosted the Spurs in a preseason contest and hardly anybody for San Antonio showed up. Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter, Patty Mills (injured) and even Popovich did not make the trip.

Granted, it’s preseason and it’s normal for guys not to participate, but Suns owner Robert Sarver wasn’t amused. He took the opportunity, during the game, to apologize to Suns fans for the Spurs not showing up.

“Hey, everybody, I want to thank you for coming out tonight,” Sarver said. “This is not the game you paid your hard-earned money to watch. I apologize for it. And I want you to send me your tickets if you came tonight with a return envelope and I’ve got a gift for you on behalf of the Suns for showing up tonight. Thank you.”
