The NBA season doesn’t start for nearly two months, and LeBron James is already locked in. The rest of the NBA might want to watch out.
ESPN.com’s Dave McMenamin relayed this tidbit about James’ offseason workouts:
I've spoken to two people privy to LeBron's workouts the last couple weeks. They both used the word "obsessed" to describe his current state

There’s an element of training camp talk here. Everyone is optimistic and in the best shape of their lives before the start of the season. It’s also no coincidence this news comes after Kyrie Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics. It’s almost like James will want to show up the player who wanted out in part because of him or something.
The move itself should only increase James’ drive. Not only is Irving gone, but he’s repping the Cavaliers’ foremost Eastern Conference rival. He’ll probably want to reinforce the notion that no one player is enough to transcend whatever team he plays for in his peak. Hell, Irving’s departure may even rekindle James’ interest in staying put, if only so he can take pleasure in dispatching the Celtics for the next couple years at his former teammate’s expense.
Basically, this is all a roundabout way of saying James will probably earn his fifth MVP award next season.
