It’s been business as usual for the Golden State Warriors after a minor rough stretch when they first lost Kevin Durant to his sprained MCL injury.
They are now 65-14 on the season (what’s new), have won 13 straight games, and as of Wednesday night have clinched the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs for the 3rd consecutive season.

They also became the first team in NBA history to win 65 games in three consecutive seasons.

By earning the No. 1 seed they obviously guarantee home court throughout the NBA Playoffs, but they also carve themselves what one would assume is an easy path to the NBA Finals, with more than likely a .500 or worse Blazers team instead of a physical series with the Grizzlies. They also avoid having to play both the Rockets and the Spurs to get back to the finals.
The loss of Durant for a period could have been a blessing in disguise for the Warriors as Steph Curry regained his MVP form in the past month or so and that makes the Warriors even stronger when Durant gets back in the swing of things.
The Warriors will head into the playoffs pretty big favorites to win the NBA title.
