The Suns Gorilla is one of the longest standing professional sports mascots, a true legend in the world of mascots. He is a high-energy, motorcycle riding, trampoline dunking, ball of energy that has been a pioneer for mascots.
Apparently after being a huge part of the Suns in-game experience and the local Phoenix community, the star in between quarters for 37 years, the Gorilla decided Tuesday night that it was finally time he get in on the real NBA action, so he did so in the 4th quarter…

We many never know the reason why The Gorilla felt it was necessary to slide onto the court mid-game as if it were a ginormous water slide, it may have been a dare from his fellow mascot friends, to pay up on a bet, to distract the Wizards on a defensive position to facilitate a much needed Suns basket, or simply because he just felt like it.
The truth of the matter is the motivation doesn’t matter in this case, all that matters is that he provided one of the most bizarre and entertaining moments on an NBA court that we have seen in some time, and I salute him for it.
