The Nuggets are flying high lately. They have won seven of their last 10 games to improve to 21-27 and are now in the race for the western conference No. 8 seed.
One of the changes the team has made during this successful stretch is benching 29-year-old combo forward Wilson Chandler.
Chandler was having the best season of his career, averaging 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds on 45 percent shooting, and needless to say he is not too happy about his benching.
According to USA Today’s Sam Amick, Chandler is frustrated enough with his demotion to request that he be traded.

For a 29-year-old in the prime of his career with Chandler’s skill set and positional flexibility and the fact that he is basically under contract at $12 million for the next three seasons and what will become even more of a cap-friendly deal, makes Chandler a nice commodity that will definitely draw suitors.
If the Nuggets do trade him, they have the contract assurance as leverage and could definitely net some value in return such as a first round pick or some young talent.
You can’t tell me a team like the Clippers, Thunder, Grizzlies or Hawks wouldn’t love to have Chandler.
I have a feeling he may be wearing a new uniform in the next month.
