It’s always nice to hear about people who are in the giving spirit this time of year and one of the most generous examples of that appears to be Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander.
He has pledged to donate $4 million to eight undetermined Houston area charities.

Prospective charities can enter for a chance to receive a part of the donation on Rockets.com the eight charities chosen will be announced at an event in January.
Here is a comment from Alexander on his very generous act of philanthropy:
“When I bought the team, I said we’d try to do two things, give back to the community and win. And we keep trying to do that.”
He also said you have an obligation in your own mind to constantly give back if you have the means and that he would hope some of the aid goes to organizations supporting immigrants and those that care for orphaned animals.
This is just one example of all the good things happening in our society that sometimes get overlooked, kudos to Alexander for using his success and his franchise’s success to improve the communities that support his team.
His star player, James Harden, has been in the giving spirit this season as well as he is leading the NBA in assists with 11.7 assists per game.
