DeMarcus Cousins’ up-and-down relationship with the Kings brass over the years has been well documented. If were just an average player, there really wouldn’t be much to discuss. But he’s arguably the best big man in the league, so that always makes these types of situations sticky.
It has been rumored that the Kings would be willing to trade Cousins, but they always seem to kiss and make up. Or, that’s how it has always seemed. But as it turns out, the Kings did in fact try to trade Cousins once upon a time, according to Kings owner Vivek Ranadive. Maybe their asking price was too high, because they could not find a dancing partner.
“You know, look, George [Karl] had tried to trade Cousins that whole summer, and there was not a lot of love between those two, and so there was tension there. So that was not a new thing.”
