Pelicans superstar power forward Anthony Davis has had a rough past year on the injury front and continues to prove to be an injury prone player in general, missing a number of games in every season since entering the NBA.
The latest setback, although minor, is a sprained ankle suffered during Wednesday morning’s preseason game against the Houston Rockets in Beijing.

Davis has a grade 2 sprain and expects to miss about two weeks of action, making his status for the Pelicans season opener at home against the Nuggets doubtful.
Davis spent the off-season recovering from knee and shoulder surgery after missing the final 14 games of the 2015-16 regular season. He has missed 66 games in the first four seasons of his NBA career and his inability to stay healthy is a growing concern for a Pelicans franchise that has invested a lot in their cornerstone.
Here’s to hoping this minor setback is one of the few or only one Davis deals with during the 2016-17 season.
