NBA Basketball is Back this Weekend

steph nba pre-season

For NBA junkies like myself, the past month since the Olympics ended have been a time to ponder the meaning of life and what it is missing in the dog days of the NBA offseason, but for those who are itching to watch NBA players in real games (even if they are meaningless) this weekend is your first chance to do that.

Saturday kicks off the NBA pre-season with two games. The Pelicans will host the Mavericks and offer an opportunity to see Harrison Barnes in his new role and Buddy Hield’s first action against more veteran NBA counterparts. The Raptors will host the Warriors.

The Raptors have one of the most rabid fan bases in the NBA and after last season’s trip to the eastern conference finals the place could be rocking for a pre-season contest, especially against the NBA’s new villain from the bay.

Even with college football in full swing (and three top 10 match-ups this weekend) you can bet there will be some eyes on the Raptors-Warriors game to see the new-look, super-mega team Warriors in action, if only for a few minutes and in a basically meaningless way.

Almost half of the U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team will be on display as well including Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan.

The real fun won’t start until October 26, but be excited NBA fans October and the return of NBA basketball has arrived!
