David West essentially said no thanks to $12 million last summer when he elected to turn down the Pacers offer and accept the veteran’s minimum to join the Spurs in quest of a championship. The Spurs fell short, so his gamble didn’t pay off.
But that has not deterred him. West is up to it again in his quest for a title while being an overlooked role player. The veteran power forward has agreed to a 1-year deal to join the Warriors on the veteran’s minimum. Let’s just hope it’s worth it to him.
They reached an agreement on a one-year minimum deal with big man David West. The 6-foot-9, 250-pounder, who turns 36 next month, is a two-time All-Star, and he passed on a $12.2 million option with Indiana last season to chase a title with San Antonio.
