Jeff Teague Played 2015-16 Season With Torn Patella Tendon

Jeff Teague spilled the beans on his Instagram account Thursday morning about his dangerous and interesting decision to play the entire 2015-16 season with a torn patella tendon in his right knee.

Teague quickly deleted the Instagram post as he was probably alerted to do so by his agent, the Hawks organization or both. As we all know though, the second something is published on social media a screenshot is taken and can live on in eternity.

In the immortal words of former NFL Head Coach Herm Edwards, Don’t Press Send!

If you read between the not so subtle lines it is clear Teague has some resentment toward the Hawks for the handling of his alleged injury. One can only assume his status on the trade deadline all season is a factor.

It seems clear the Hawks are open to moving on from Teague and giving the keys to the offense to backup Dennis Schroeder. This comment may only help shorten Teague’s days in Atlanta even more.

If he really did play the entire season with a torn patella tendon and the Hawks training staff was aware of it, the Instagram post could lead to some ramifications for the team moving forward.
