David Blatt’s stint coaching in the NBA was short-lived, and largely forgettable. Blatt has reportedly agreed to coach in Turkey next season.
After being fired before the all-star break despite a 30-11 record, Blatt has been rumored to be in contention for some other NBA jobs. His name was tossed around with the Knicks and Rockets, but both have gone elsewhere with their search. So, he’s headed back overseas.
Prior to coming to the NBA to coach the Cavs last season, Blatt was a very decorated Euroleague head coach. Apparently he has decided to go back to what he knows.
Former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt is finalizing a deal with Turkish professional team Darussafaka, reports Europe-based basketball reporter David Pick.
According to Pick, Darussafaka’s deal with Blatt will be for close to $2 million per season over an unspecified number of years.
