Jason Kidd comes across as very mild-mannered, unassuming and easy to get along with. But clearly, that’s far from what he actually is, according to some. His exit from Brooklyn was both surprising and puzzling, as he was out of a job seemingly overnight.
Reports indicated that management thought he was cocky, arrogant and demanded too much power. Kidd, of course, denies any such allegations.
Now that he’s in Milwaukee, he has inherited a team with a young core that rivals any other team’s in the league. However, that hasn’t translated into success just yet. Will Jason Kidd be around for the glory days? He’s reportedly on the outs with some of Bucks brass and this sounds eerily similar to his final days in Brooklyn.
I’m told Kidd, who was brought to Milwaukee by one of the team’s tri-majority owners and close friend, Marc Lasry, hasn’t endeared himself to the rest of the Bucks’ ownership group. Some think Kidd’s arrogant, some think his heart isn’t into coaching and are miffed he took off a portion of the season for hip surgery when he could have done it in the offseason. Some, most importantly, question his coaching acumen and his player personal decision-making.
I’ve also been told by people close to the Bucks’ situation that Kidd, once the golden boy of the organization, is now on shaky ground.
