Last night’s Game 5 between the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets went back and forth throughout as both teams made runs to take control of the lead during periods of the game, but the Hornets pulled off the upset on the road winning 90-88.
The Hornets outscored the Heat 25-17 in the fourth quarter and took a 90-88 lead in the game and with 25 seconds left in the game Courtney Lee knocked down a go ahead three after an offensive rebound.
On the ensuing possession the Heat looked a little unorganized and scattered as the ball was whipped around the top of the key between Dwyane Wade and Joe Johnson. Wade drove to the baseline with five seconds remaining and appeared to be fouled before losing possession of the ball to the Hornets.
Here is a screenshot of the potential missed call:

Wade’s wife, actress Gabrielle Union was none too pleased with the refs not calling a foul on the play and allowing her hubby a chance to tie the game at 90. She is pleading for the NBA to fine the refs for the missed call in a big playoff moment
They need to get fined. Period. Crappy officiating deserves a FINE and suspension. Not after the fact "oh well" https://t.co/B6CSxn4ck2

In all fairness I DID let refs know when they gave us calls we didn't deserve… his response "I thought you'd be at the concert" #FineEm

2 min report is BS… after the fact WHO CARES?!?!?! If you don't #FineEm what's the motivation to get it right in the future?? #logic

If players/coaches/owners get fined for complaints about poor officiating, makes sense that poor officiating =fines for the refs #logic

Although it was quite entertaining to see Gabrielle Union’s Twitter rant after the game, you have to be honest she does have a point. Watching the game in real time it seems like it could go either way, but when watching the replay Wade does get bumped and hit across the arm. Of course the Heat wouldn’t have been in that position if they would have grabbed a defensive rebound on the other end, but nevertheless it was a missed call in a pivotal moment that affected the outcome of a playoff game.
No word yet if the NBA will take any action on this situation and #FineEm.
