Klay Thompson Has Some Thoughts on Harry Potter, Which Obviously Matters

Klay Thompson Harry Potter

Klay Thompson just went up a notch or 50 on my nonexistent ladder of respect for professional athletes.

Following the Golden State Warriors’ Wednesday night victory over the Miami Heat, Thompson dished on how excited he was to visit “Harry Potter Land” when the team traveled to face the Orlando Magic on Thursday night. This, naturally, led to some follow-up thoughtz and feelz from Golden State’s All-Star wing.

Kate Scott of KNBR 680 in San Francisco delivered the breaking news:

Awesome. Just amazing.

Yours truly loved the Harry Potter series, so this resonates. I lost myself in it growing up. Harry was around the same age as I was at some point, and I felt this profound connection to him and the other characters. It was surreal and crazy and I’ll never forget the feeling I had when I put down the seventh and final book. It was exciting and terrifying. You were excited to finish his journey with him, but it was like a part of your youth—your entire youth, really—was going up in smoke right before your very eyes. You yourself suddenly needed to grow up and move on.

On that note, I really need to reread the series once I stop working 90 hours a week. But…I digress.

The Prisoner of Azkaban is a solid choice here from Klay. It was, in fact, one of the best books. It was most definitely the worst movie, but the book itself was awesome.

And now for some arbitrary Harry Potter rankings:

7. Order of the Phoenix
6. Chamber of Secrets
5. Goblet of Fire
4. Half-Blood Prince
3. Sorcerer’s Stone
2. Prisoner of Azkaban
1. Deathly Hallows

Phew. That was tough.

What say you, Klay?
