Gregg Popovich knows how to throw some not-so-subtle shade.
On the heels of the San Antonio Spurs’ 30-point loss to the Golden State Warriors Monday night, the veteran sideline-wanderer threw some loosely—OK, not-at-all—veiled shots in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ direction.
Per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports:
Popovich: "I'm glad my general manager wasn't in my locker room or I might've gotten fired."

Coach Pop is, of course, referring to Cavs general manager LeBron James David Griffin, and LeBron James’ his decision to fire head honcho David Blatt for the sake of LeBron James the entire team.
Touche, Pop.
Also, according to Spurs general manager R.C. Buford, your job may not exactly be safe.
From the San Antonio Express-News’ Buck Harvey:
“We almost got them,” Gregg Popovich began.
He was just warming up. “My opening comment here will be,” he said, “I’m just glad my general manager wasn’t in the locker room, because it might have gotten me fired.”
Told of that, R.C. Buford had his own line:
“We’ll see how Wednesday goes.”
We all knew Pop was a sarcastic sage, but who knew his snark permeated the entire front office?
This is the luxury of being the Spurs.
Even after their loss to the Warriors, they are still the present-day standard for greatness and stability, and their net rating is still on pace to be the best of all time, according to Basketball-Reference.
They can afford to laugh at the expense of other teams’ actual dysfunction whenever they freaking please.
