Most people outside of Sixers brass truly has no idea what the plan is for building this team for the future. The way things are looking now, they’ll have another top 3 pick in the draft and may select another big man. At some point, they’re going to have to put this all together and make an attempt to move forward.
But one thing’s for sure: you can’t blame the team’s putrid record on head coach Brett Brown. He can only do so much. To that end, the Sixers see enough in him to engage in conversations to extend his contract.
“We are in deep discussions on my contract and I have had amazing conversations with Josh Harris and David Blitzer and Sam Hinkie about my future,” Brown said. “This is where I want to be. To go through what we have all gone through over the past two years and the first third of this year and still be passionate about seeing this through, I dream like everyone else.”
