The Clippers have had the Chris Paul – Blake Griffin – DeAndre Jordan core in tact for a while but haven’t yet sniffed the Finals. At some point, you just have to concede that a particular core will just never get it done. That’s kinda what Doc Rivers implied. It almost sounds like Doc is willing to blow up the roster if it doesn’t happen this year.
“We’re right on the borderline,” Doc Rivers tells Grantland during a long sit-down at his office. “I have no problem saying that. I’m a believer that teams can get stale. After a while, you don’t win. It just doesn’t work. We’re right at the edge. Oklahoma City is on the edge. Memphis, too. We just have to accept it.”
