Deron Williams’ homecoming to the Dallas area has gotten off to a sour note. Williams will be sidelined for the remainder of the preseason with a strained calf. However, the 31-year old hopes to play opening night for the Mavs.
New Mavericks point guard Deron Williams will miss at least the entire preseason with a strained right calf, and his status for the season opener is uncertain.
Williams has yet to complete a full practice with his new team. He strained his left calf the week before training camp opened and sat out several days, then injured his other calf midway through what was supposed to be his first full practice.
