The Chicago Bulls held their first practice of the new season on Tuesday and the result was less than desirable. It didn’t take long for Derrick Rose to get hurt. However, the good news was that he injured his face rather than his knees.
Rose broke an orbital bone and will have surgery on Wednesday. There’s still a chance that he’ll play in the Bull’s opener.
Derrick Rose caught an accidental elbow to his face halfway through Hoiberg’s first session and left for tests that revealed a left orbital fracture. The team said Rose, who turns 27 Sunday, will undergo surgery at Rush University Medical Center on Wednesday. A timetable for his return will be determined after the procedure.
