Inspired by the lumberjack’s Oregon origin is the ‘Forestry’ adidas D Lillard 1 signature basketball sneaker. Constructed with a brown, tumbled-leather upper and featuring yellow rope laces, a red flannel textile material on the tongue, and metal eyelets, the ‘Forestry’ D Lillard 1 tells the lumberjack story very well on Damian Lillard’s first signature adidas shoe.
This isn’t the first DLillard 1 colorway that pays homage to the Trail Blazers’ hometown of Portland, previous nods released in the form of the ‘Rose City’ edition (inspired by the festival in Oregon) and airport-inspired ‘PDX Carpet’ version.
Between the good storytelling, great styling, and amazing price point, the adidas D Lillard 1 saw success that many signature shoes don’t get on their first go-round. I am hearing rumblings that the DLillard 2 for the 2015-16 NBA season will incorporate the adidas Boost foam cushioning technology. While that will mostly translate into a higher price, it will also mean a better performing basketball sneaker.
The ‘Forestry’ adidas DLillard 1 releases on Friday, August 7th for $105.
