With free agency only two weeks away, the Dwyane Wade Saga continues to develop. The Miami Heat have just been given another reason to be concerned about their beloved superstar’s impending future, as a new report is linking Wade with the Lakers.
It’s hard to imagine Wade leaving the Heat to be quite honest, however, if both parties don’t find common ground soon that is exactly what will happen.
And if it does, we may actually see Wade wearing a purple and gold jersey next season, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated:
While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per league sources.

Hard to see LA offering Wade a better chance to win than Miami, especially in the West. But it is LA, and they do have money to burn.

Again, it’s hard to imagine Wade leaving the Heat. But it’s even tougher to imagine seeing him play side by side with an aging Kobe Bryant.
It’s safe to say that this rumor could probably have been orchestrated by Wade’s agent to add more pressure to the Heat management to give Wade the numbers he’s seeking. Its also a possibility that Wade is really serious about leaving the only franchise that he’s played for throughout his career for the bright lights of hollywood. His significant other is actress Gabrielle Union afterall.
If the Heat continue to play chicken in their negotiations with Wade, you can’t blame the Lakers for trying to swoop in and steal a franchise player with plenty left in the tank.
