Look: Russell Westbrook Is Back, With A Mask, Game Still On Fire

westbrookmaskThe way Russell Westbrook has been playing over the last few weeks is not human, not from this world. He’s a man on a mission to single-handedly propel the OKC Thunder up the standings in the Western Conference. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if the Thunder finish anything better than 8th in the Western Conference this season, given the way they started the season, should be considered a favorite for the league Most Valuable Player award. The NBA tonight announced Westbrook was named the NBA player of the month for the West.

Fans were shook in OKC this week when Westbrook suffered a significant facial injury. He returned to the court tonight wearing a mask for the Thunder game against the Sixers. Not only did the mask make Westbrook look ‘more’ like a superhero, it also gave him, unbelievably, an increase in superhuman basketball skills.

Westbrook notched his 4th straight triple double! And massive triple double at that in the first game in the Mask, putting up 49 points, 16 boards, 10 assists, and 3 steals in the Thunder’s overtime win against the Sixers.

He started early with this And 1 in the first, showing he wasn’t afraid of the contact with his facial injury….

Then just so we remembered he was an athletic freak, mask or no mask, he goes coast to coast and throws down this two handed hammer that brought the crowd to its feet…..

Impressed yet? Russell Westbrook seemingly gets better by the week, we can only hope the Thunder continue to roll. We know the Golden State Warriors are likely hoping the same.

The Thunder went on to win the game in overtime by a score of 123-118. Look out Western Conference. They keep coming.
