For months there have been noises about who Ray Allen will sign with for the remainder of the season. One Cleveland Cavaliers reporter, Mike Cairns, believes that not only will Ray Allen sign with the Cavs, but the announcement may be soon.
Why does he think that? Because Allen was apparently spotted this week in Cleveland….
I think we are getting close to a decision #Cavs fans. I am hearing Ray Allen was in Cleveland yesterday. expected to make decision soon.

I have no idea where Ray Allen will eventually sign to play out the season, but the Cavaliers are certainly a team that makes a lot of sense. Ray Allen helps spread the floor for Lebron James to open up passing and driving lanes, and that combination worked wonders in Miami the past few seasons. Although not as heavily publicized as Lebron’s relationship with Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Lebron became very close during their respective tenure in Miami.
In fact Ray Allen may have already made his decision by now if it weren’t for the slow start to the NBA season that the Cavaliers had. At this point in his career Ray Allen likely wants to play for a contender. But the recent Cavs trades to acquire key pieces in JR Smith and Iman Shumpert have breathed new life into Cleveland.
However, there is still one thing that may put a monkey wrench into Lebron’s plans to woo Ray Allen to sign with the Cavs. That’s the Atlanta Hawks. Heavily considered the favorite to win the Eastern Conference at this point, the Hawks are said to also be interested in Ray Allen’s services. They are a team that moves the ball extremely well, and have a very balanced attack on offense that relies heavily on their outside shooting prowess.
If anything, the Hawks probably think its wise to sign Allen to avoid the Cavaliers getting him.
Time will tell.
