For as great as he has been throughout his career, it’s amazing that Kobe Bryant has only won one MVP. In fact, he barely won the most valuable player award that he does have. Chris Paul nearly (and probably deservedly) took that one home. This isn’t talked about much when discussing Kobe’s legacy, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter or that it doesn’t bother him.
When asked why he has only the one MVP throughout his career…
“Because the media votes on it.”
“It was never a mission of mine to win a lot of MVPs. It was to win a lot of championships.”
“With that being said, does it bother me? Yeah, it bothers me. Of course it bothers me.”
