About this time every year, most of the nation’s elite high school ballers hope their name gets called to participate in the annual McDonald’s All American Game.
This year’s contest, the 38th annual McDonald’s All American Game, will be played on April 1st, once again at the United Center in Chicago.
The game has served as a national showcase of some of the NCAA and NBA’s biggest future stars that have featured names like Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Anthony Davis.
This year’s crop of high school phenoms feature the biggest names in HS hoops like #1 ranked player Ben Simmons and 2nd ranked Jaylen Brown, playing for the West squad, while the East features elite scorers Malik Newman, Ivan Rabb, and PG supreme Jalen Brunson
LSU and Duke led the schools with the most commits, with top player Ben Simmons and #14 ranked Antonio Blakeney both pledging to play for the Tigers next season, while talented big man Chase Jeter(#9) and the prolific scoring Luke Kennard(#23), will play for the Blue Devils.
Overall, 22 of the top 25 of ESPN’s seniors were chosen for the 2015 McDonald’s All American Game, with a record 9 players still uncommitted.
The biggest omission was probably Kentucky commit Skal Labissierre(#3), whom technically was ineligible because he does not play on either a public or private varsity team, following his transfer from Evangelical Christian. Texas A&M signee Tyler Davis(#18), was the highest prospect not selected for the game.
