Watch: Duke Freshman Justise Winslow Jumps Over Player For Block

justise winslow 1The Duke Blue Devils have been remarkably good in the early going thanks to the nation’s #1 rated incoming recruiting class, a bevy of returning upperclassmen, and the deep knowledge an instincts of top all time Division I wins leader, Coach K.

The nation’s former #1 ranked HS player Jahlil Okafor has been every bit as good as advertised, averaging 15 points and 8 boards, as well as top ranked HS PG Tyus Jones, who has adjusted well becoming Duke’s starting PG as a freshman.

But the true MVP of the season so far has to be another star frosh, named Justise Winslow, who has flown a bit under the radar with all of the hype surrounding Okafor.

Winslow is a do-it-all guard/forward that has legit NBA size and abilities that has seen him score in double figures in every game, putting up 15.8 ppg, 5.8 reb, and 2.2 ast, playing 28 minutes per night for the unblemished(5-0) Blue Devils.

He reminds many of NBA All Star Andre Iguodala for his lock-down defense and insane athletic ability, paired with an ever growing offensive game, including shooting nearly 40% from behind the 3 point line.

While most have been focusing on the juggernaut that is Kentucky early this season, don’t rule out Duke as a National Championship contender.

In a weekend game against Stanford, star freshman Justise Winslow showed off his amazing hops, drawing comparisons to the former NBA Dunk Champion Vince Carter, for leaping completely over Stanford guard Chasson Randle to block a shot…..
