At this point virtually everyone under the sun is aware of the fact that Lebron James was a two-sport star in high school at St.Mary-St.Vincent in Akron, Ohio. Basketball and Football were his passions, and if it weren’t for him giving up football in favor of his virtually cemented NBA future in basketball, many speculate he may have gone all the way in football as well. Hell, Jerry Jones wanted him on the Cowboys, remember?
According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, Lebron James told him this week that he has basically banned his sons from playing football. Its a three sport option in the James’ house between basketball, baseball, and soccer….
I was surprised Friday when LeBron told me he doesn't let his sons play football. Only basketball, baseball & soccer in his house.

Lebron isn’t the first father in the world to be concerned about their children playing a violent and physically risky sport like football, hockey, rugby, wrestling, mixed martial arts etc. However, this case is a little more high profile given Lebron’s stature in pro sports and his highly publicized love for football. Even saying in those reports he loved football more than basketball.
On a side note, in my experience banning a child from doing something is almost a lock that he will want to pursue that activity even more. Just sayin’.
