The Oklahoma City Thunder’s season has been going downhill from almost the start, as they have been struggling to win games without their all-star duo—Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. They currently have the worst record in the west right now at 3-12. And yes, the Lakers have a better record than them. Shocking.
But now, things may start to look bright once again for the Thunder as their dynamic duo are set to return real soon. Thunder coach Scott Brooks said that, both Durant and Westbrook participated in practice this week, and Westbrook could make a return as soon as this week.
From Anthony Slater of the Oklahoman:
“This week, I don’t know what day, they’ll get evaluated and we’ll go from there,” Brooks said. “They’ll continue to go through this process and when they’re ready — 100 percent ready — they’ll play.”
It may seem that Brooks is in a hurry to have his all-stars inserted back into the lineup with his team trying to survive without them. And honestly, I don’t blame him—because if the Thunder lose any more games this season, it’s going to be a tough hill to climb back up in the very wild western conference.
The Thunder need them back, badly. And once they do, Durant and Westbrook certainly have a lot of work to do.
