It seems like this should’ve happened a long time ago, but Michael Jordan is now a billionaire. Thanks to his imprint on pop culture with his sneakers, and to a larger degree his ownership of the Charlotte Hornets, MJ has now eclipsed that threshold.
According to Forbes, Jordan recently increased his stake in the Hornets from 80% to 89.5%, which has officially made him a billionaire. Now, if he can just translate that to success on the basketball court, that would be nice. I wonder if he’s even aware of this. When you have that much money, does it really even matter?

After subtracting all the cash Jordan has invested in the team, we estimate his net worth outside of the Hornets to be $600 million, giving him a net worth of a $1 billion.
