Marc Gasol injured his knee the same day Derrick Rose did, but unfortunately for Gasol, not many were talking about him the following day. All of the focus was on Rose.
However, since the dust has settled, we can refocus on the big man, who sprained his MCL nearly two months ago. He has been cleared to return to practice for Memphis. They’ll definitely need his services for the second half of the season, as they are currently outside-looking-in in the playoff picture.
The NBA’s reigning defensive player of the year will go through a full practice with the Grizzlies on Monday, reports well connected Memphis radio personality Chris Vernon. Gasol has been doing light workouts recently but how he responds to this full contact practice will help determine how soon he gets back on the court.
