Watch: Former NBA Player Bobby Brown Scores 74 Pts In China

In hindsight, leaving Brown off the roster now looks like a huge mistake as Brown scored an impressive 74 points for the Donguan Leopards, including the game winning bucket in double OT, overseas in China.

Brown’s 74 points fell one short of the Chinese Basketball League record of 75 points in a single game, set last season by Quincy Douby.

Brown, not to be confused with the former R&B singer, has emerged as one of the best ballers around the globe, winning the ’12-’13 Euroleague Alphonso Ford Trophy for the league’s best scorer, averaging 18.8 points per game.

The Los Angeles native has been a regular every Summer back home at the legendary Drew League and has played for four different NBA teams as well as making his mark in Europe after a standout career at Cal State-Fullerton, following going undrafted in 2007.

Although he lacked prototypical size(6’2) for the NBA, Brown has always been a scorer.  After being passed over on draft day in 2007, he was signed by a German team ALBA Berlin and scored a then record 44 points in a single game to help them win the German National League.

Brown never really caught on or was given regular playing time with the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, and LA Clippers leading up to the 2010 season and returned to Europe to play in Poland, Greece, Germany, Italy, and now China.

At 29 years old, I’d bet some NBA teams may come calling now after scoring 74 points, grabbing 10 boards, on 26-52 shooting, including draining 5 3 point shots, and going 17-20 from the FT line.
