Over a year has passed since I spoke with Dwyane Wade about his partnership with Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning on the formation of WADE Brand. Now into his third signature basketball sneaker, Dwyane Wade & Li-Ning will make their first real attempt to break into the US sneaker market with a major release of the third WADE Brand signature sneaker, the Way of Wade 2.
Having a ‘Overtown’ colorway based off of the South Florida neighborhood isn’t new for Dwyane Wade sneakers since last season there was the same colorway seen on the original Way of WADE sneaker.
Since forming the partnership in 2012, there hasn’t been much opportunities for sneakerheads, or anyone in the Western Hemisphere to get their hands on a pair of Dwyane Wade Li-Ning sneakers. Personally, I only knew of two instances: being at Li-Ning’s invite-only store at Houston this past February for All-Star Weekend, or at SneakerCon Miami in July during the summer.
The ‘Overtown’ colorway of the Li-Ning Way of Wade 2 will be available on December 4th for $150 right at 3 PM EST thru the Way of WADE webstore.
