Out of frustration the other night, Dwight Howard tossed the ball at a heckling fan as the Rockets were in Dallas. It was a soft lob and nothing malicious. Even so, who does that? But I’ll give Dwight a pass, because fans have the green light to be mean-spirited at games, but if the athlete returns the favor, they are looked down upon.
For his actions, Dwight has been fined $25,000 by the league. In all honesty, I’m surprised he wasn’t suspended. Again, it wasn’t malicious, but the fact remains: he threw the ball at a fan during the game.
Houston Rockets forward/center Dwight Howard has been fined $25,000 for throwing the ball into the stands with 2:54 remaining in the fourth quarter of Houston’s 123-120 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at American Airlines Center, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.
