Watch: JR Smith Returns, Hits Half Court Buzzer Beater

The 2013-2014 New York Knicks are expecting big things from reigning NBA 6th Man of the Year JR Smith next season if they are to contend for an NBA Title.

Last season’s scoring champion Carmelo Anthony may be the team’s most valuable player, but Smith may be the most important, as he provides a valuable 2nd scoring option and helps stablilize the Knicks’ 2nd unit.

Of course fans will have to wait to see the heavily inked highlight reel scorer for a bit as he will miss the first 5 games of the regular season, sitting out a league imposed suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Smith has been sitting out the entire preseason after having surgery in mid July to repair a patella tendon and meniscus tear in his left knee.

But Smith made his preseason debut over the weekend, finally healthy enough to contribute, in a 85-83 loss to the Bobcats, scoring 11 points in 13 minutes on 5-9 shooting.

But all anyone was talking about was his amazing half court buzzer beater and outrageous celebration that followed just prior to halftime…
