Rodney Stuckey Breaks Thumb in Car Door

The Detroit Pistons will without a doubt be one of the more interesting teams this year. With the moves they made, they’ll be fun to watch and should return to the playoffs in the East. But they’ll have to get going without Rodney Stuckey.

Stuckey is out indefinitely after breaking his thumb in a car door. Good thing Detroit has some depth at the PG position.

Stuckey fractured the distal phalanx Wednesday afternoon, when his thumb accidentally got caught inside the door jamb of his vehicle as the door was closing.

Pistons doctors diagnosed the injury Thursday morning after taking X-rays of Stuckey’s thumb.

He is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday and a timetable for his return will be determined then.
