It’s funny how life comes full circle. It wasn’t that long ago that Michael Beasley was selected second overall by the Miami Heat before being shipped out of town in order to make room for the historic summer of 2010 free agency class.
However, after being released by the Suns last week, the Heat have decided to bring Beasley back. From an on-the-court standpoint, this makes all of the sense in the world. Beasley won’t be asked to be a leader and will be one of the best role players in the league. But from an off-the-court standpoint, there’s plenty going on in Miami to distract him.
The Miami Heat have signed small forward Michael Beasley, who was released recently by the Phoenix Suns, the team announced.
It is a non-guaranteed deal, but if Beasley makes the team, he will make $1.027 million. The Heat drafted Beasley with the No. 2 overall pick in 2008 but traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2010 to clear cap space for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh,
The Suns waived Beasley on Sept. 3 after he was arrested on suspicion of drug possession
