Blazers Sign Mo Williams to 2-Year Deal

Several years ago when the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Mo Williams to be LeBron James’ running mate, he became a semi-household name and a pretty respected player. Mo is a solid NBA performer, but ever since LeBron left Cleveland, Mo has fallen off the map even though he’s just 30. I guess you can say that about all of LeBron’s former teammates.

After bouncing around since Cleveland, Mo has landed in Portland. He’s a quality veteran who can add an offensive spark when his name is called and could help show Damian Lillard the ropes (as if he needs help).

Mo Williams has reached an agreement on a two-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, agent Mark Bartelstein told USA TODAY Sports’ Jeff Zillgitt on Wednesday.

The deal will pay Williams $5.6 million over two years, with the second season being a player option.
