Lakers Sign Nick Young

Anou Enright July 12, 2013 Rumors No Comments on Lakers Sign Nick Young

The benefit of playing for the Lakers is that you are immediately perceived to be a much better player. For years, Nick Young has been ridiculed for being a shot-happy player with no filter and erratic behavior. However, when news broke that he was joining the Lakers, it was applauded as being a good move. Interesting how that works.

The fact of the matter is the Lakers need new bodies. Their roster isn’t very impressive and they almost appear to be in a rebuild.

This  move comes after the Lakers officially decided to amnesty World Peace.

The deal is for one year at the league minmum, which, really, is kind of an excellent deal for the Lakers. It gives them much, much needed depth and pays Young exactly what he’s probably worth.

Young, 28, played for the 76ers last season, averaging 10.6 points in 59 games. He’s a high-volume gunner who tends to take bad shots, but he can also make a good number of them. I’m still talking about Young, not his new teammate, Kobe Bryant.
