Mike Miller has only been a member of the Miami Heat for 3 years, but you get the sense he’s adored by that fan base. In fact, Miller was the first player the Heat signed after Wade, Bosh and James, back in 2010.
Miller, who has a troublesome back that may require surgery, was released by the team a few days ago but is drawing interest from a handful of NBA clubs. One in particular happens to be the Cleveland Cavaliers, who just brought in oft-injured Andrew Bynum, who will play alongside oft-injured Kyrie Irving. Should they really add the injury-prone Miller to the mix?
After being waived by the Miami Heat via the amnesty provision, Mike Miller has become a rather hot target.
Miller has 48 hours to clear waivers, the clock beginning on that Tuesday evening, and during that time teams under the salary cap can put in bids anywhere up to the $6.2 million he’s owed next season (they can only bid how much cap space they have available, though). After that, Miller becomes an unrestricted free agent.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to officially ink Andrew Bynum, which means they have cap space to put in a bid. And according to Yahoo Sports, they’re interested.
