Following in the new Jordan Brand tradition of a “lite” version of their annual premiere sneaker, here we take a look at the Air Jordan XX8 SE.
Essentially a .5 redux of the regular Air Jordan XX8, the Jordan XX8 Lite differs from the original by removing the sky-high shroud exposing the sandwich mesh bootie. The tooling of the midsole is exactly the same as the Jordan XX8 that features the new Flight Plate system which boasts carbon fiber in the heel counter and throughout the midfoot shank to provide stability, strength, and lightweight performance. Cushioning comes from multiple Zoom Air
When the Air Jordan XX8 was first unveiled, the shroud was the biggest topic of conversation so maybe without the zippering feature the Jordan XX8 Lite will be better received.
Similar to the regular Jordan XX8, look for these to release with different patterns printed on the upper. No official word on the Air Jordan XX8 SE yet, but I hear a late 2012/early 2013 release for these.
