The Knicks’ Iman Shumpert admitted to The Hoop Doctors that he was “uncomfortable” when he came back from his ACL injury when we had the chance to chat with him several weeks ago. Translation: he probably came back too early, and has even felt discomfort since. Therefore, this latest news isn’t shocking, but definitely disturbing.
Shumpert sat out Monday’s practice with soreness in that surgically repaired knee. However, the good news is that he plans to be on the court Tuesday vs. the Pacers and he says it isn’t related to his ACL.
“It’s just a little sore. They said it’s probably just a bruise, so just taking a precaution,” Shumpert said, adding that team doctors don’t believe it’s related to last year’s ACL surgery. “In my mind, I’m playing. Unless I get out there and it’s just like I can’t do what I’m supposed to do. But I don’t think it will stop me from playing.”
