With Dwight Howard’s contract with the Lakers expiring this summer, the Howard signing rumors are going to run rampant again. Many would have thought after the move to LA, that the Lakers would have dominated the West this season and as a result Howard’s decision to stay in LA would have been quite simple.
But given how the Lakers season turned out, and just like his final days in Orlando, there will certainly be a lot of ambiguity and mystery about his decision right up until the final hour. But Sam Amick from USA Today Sports apparently has a source close to Howard that believes Howard is intending to re-sign with the Lakers this summer and solidify his future with LA.
While the center who will be a free agent this summer has continued his noncommittal stance about whether he will sign with the Lakers or head elsewhere, two people close to him said they fully expect him to return. The people spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity out of respect for Howard’s decision to wait until the summer to make his final choice.
